María Eugenia Luc, (1958-XII-06), Italian-Argentinian composer. She studied at the National University and LIPM- Musical Research and Production Laboratory - (Argentina), Civica Scuola di Musica Contemporanea di Milano (Italy), École Nationale de Musique and University Paris VIII (France), University of the Basque Country (Spain), obtaining the title of Doctor of Interdisciplinary Creation in Contemporary Art, Cum Laude. She received scholarships in the following international courses: Musikinstitut Darmstadt, Accademia Chigiana di Siena, Música en Compostela, Manuel de Falla, Latinoamericano of Contemporary Music, under the guidance of Dieter SCHNEBEL, Brian FERNEYHOUGH, Franco DONATONI, Ennio MORRICONE, among others.

She has received awards for her music by the Instituto I.I.L.A. of Rome, I.M.E.B.-Bourges, I.S.C.M., SGAE, the Basque Government. Her compositions have been world premieres in in concert halls and festivals in Europe, Asia and America: Teatro Colón and Teatro San Martin (Buenos Aires), Kunitachi College of Music (Tokio), Hochschule für Musik (Berlín), Royal Academy of Music (Londres), Théâtre du Port de la Lune (Bordeaux), Palazzo Chigi Saracini (Siena), Instituto Goethe in Paris, Civica Scuola di Musica (Milano), «Giuseppe Verdi» High School of Music (Milano), Euskalduna Palace and Guggenheim museum (Bilbao), Auditorium MACBA (Barcelona), Reina Sofía Centre of Art (Madrid), Kursaal (San Sebastián), World Musica Days Tallinn (Estonia), Quincena Musical Donostiarra, Musica Strasbourg, Aujourd'hui Musique (Perpignan), Festival Arte e Scenza (Rome), Cycle of the BBVA Fondation (Bilbao), Lemmensinstituut (Bélgica), CIMUCC (Sevilla), Des Masters Sur les Ondes (Swiss Radio-Television), Nova Electronic Music Festival (Wroklaw-Polonia), and others. 

María Eugenia Luc’s output has been performed by prestigious soloists such as Mario CAROLI, Harry SPARNAAY, Pierre STRAUCH, Séverine BALLON, Claude DELANGLE, Jean GEOFFROY, Jean Pierre DUPUY; ensembles such as Vox Clamantis, Exaudi Vocal Ensemble, Bout du Monde, Barcelona 216, Taller Sonoro, Plural Ensemble, Espai Sonor, Proxima Centauri, Dúo Levent, Cello Octet Amsterdam, Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble, Grupo Enigma, Sigma Project, S3 Spectral Sax Style; and the following orchestras: Spanish National Orchestra, Euskadiko Orkestra Sinfonikoa, Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa, Rosario Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Buenos Aires, under the baton of Maestros Robert TREVIÑO, Nacho DE PAZ, Michal NESTEROWICZ, Ernest MARTÍNEZ IZQUIERDO, Pablo GONZÁLEZ, Juanjo MENA, Marcelo DE JESÚS, Manuel NAWRI, Emmanuel SIFFERT, Jaime MARTÍN, among others. 

She was a former Professor at the Higher School of Music and National University in Buenos Aires and collaborated with Ricordi Milano. Between 2003 and 2011 she was a professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, as well as the Master Faculty of Scenic Arts in the University of the Basque Country.

From 2004 to the present, she is a professor of "Music and Interdisciplinary Creation" of MUSIKENE - Higher School of Music of the Basque Country.

María Eugenia Luc has been invited to lecture in seminars and master class by international institutions: Royal Higher School of Music of Madrid, Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst of Vienna (Austria), Hochschule für Musik and Universität der Künste of Berlin (Germany), Liceu Higher School of Music of Barcelona (Spain), Casa del Suono and High School of Music of Parma (Italy), LIEM (Madrid-Spain), National University of Salamanca (Spain), National University of the Basque Country (Spain), Giuseppe Verdi High School of Music and Comune di Milano (Italy), High School of Music Manuel de Falla of Buenos Aires and National University of Rosario (Argentina), National University of Montevideo (Uruguay).

In February 2016, she received the MELÓMANO DE ORO distinction awarded by the specialized magazine Melómano for her monographic CD “of air and light”, a cycle inspired by Chi Kung.

María Eugenia Luc has been jury of international composition competitions such as: SGAE Composition Competition, City of Tarragona International Composition Competition, Leioa Short Film Competition, Electronic Miniatures Composition Competition, Francesc Civil Composition Competition, Francisco Escudero Composition Competition, Pablo Sorozabal Composition Competition, etc.

In 1997 she founded Kuraia (Group of Contemporary Music) and in 2001 KLEM (Kuraia Laboratory of Electro-acoustic and Multimedia). She is the current Artistic Director of the Kuraia Ensemble.
